我虽然不是，但是因为跟他们工作得很近，基本每天都得打交道，也比较了解。。楼上的要申请？

工资不错。需要了解整个公司的business process.百分之六十以上的时间是和finance department打交道。需要reporting的技巧。

same, cant type Chinese at work.. what do you need a BA for? i do know a few that i work with, which particular IT sector you refer to and what sort fo help you need? most of them belongs to a Vendor who contracting to our company.

WHat company is that. It it really big BA team if there are more than 30 BAs....

I am more in design Applications side, such as Project management, Business requirement and Funcational Spec.. Also incluing Reporting and Strategy.... Do you have QQ or Email Address a ... CAn you message me that we can share experience a ...

我们公司的ba 和别的公司不大一样, 只要是和系统/分析沾边的都叫BA, 其中还有senior BA, Business System Analyst, Business process analyst, etc, 不都是一个team 的, 基本上80%在IT, 20%在Finance, 所以没什么可比价性啊

not really la. i actually have no technical background at all but somehow jump into this field... :o). we do have a BA from ASB and he transit easily even from different industry.. the fundemental should be very similar as you mentioned below, drafting specs, scoping, HLR, DLR, process mapping, etc.. kicking people's ass to sign off document.. honestly, i dont like that job. haha

i'm in the logistics industry~~

i do and don't agree with you about the BA tech - in theory yes, in practice probably not~~ =)

if the nature of one "business" is different from another, then the approach of doing the analysis will be different, the tools might be same tho...

设计APPLICATION 是没可能由BA做得,都是Dev或者Architect做的.

my old company had BAs, they mainly dealt with customers, and then wrote requirements, etc..

My current company is fairly large, but funnily enough, we dont have a BA, only PMs...

business analyst is reponsible for discussing business requirements and creating functional requirement specs, working out possible technical solution with system architect & technical support team, and supporting users with user testing, training, etc. In one sentence, IT BA is the closest position to business users in one IT project and helps to translate business language into IT language.

Yes. It is normal for BA doing half of the PM job as well is no PM around...

I do want to know what company as well. I think only large large can have 100 BA.. Since even ASB only have 30-40 BAs.....

yah.. I fully agree. they have to be running hundreds of projects all together for that to happen...

I doubt even Google has that many BAs..

我朋友在IBM，也只是40多个BA 啊。。因为一个BA 可以RUN好几个PROJECT的。。。就算PROJECT 跟BAU分开。。也不用那么多BA

yap, I totally agree with you.

Though IBM has many offices, in North America and Europe they are likely to have larger offices :) Although I doubt our friend up there is working in one of these office :P
