Auckland ratepayers were yesterday handed an extra $7 million bill for a council computer system that has already cost $54 million - and still can't do its job。

每年交那么多个人paye，还要交council rates，结果呢？

结果就是被一群没用的政治家浪费了！

你叫我怎样当个好市民？不去逃税什么就够好了。。。

政治家? It is the 政治家 (Councillor Mike Lee) who raised the concern of overspending.

It is indeed the stupid officers sitting at the management levels of Council who designed the process and created this mess, and as Mr Sea also works for a powerful Council's organisation (AT) himself, I just want to quote a Chinese proverb: "you know that" ~ This is how the organisation works ~

这边政府税收靠rates比较多，奥克兰已没什么地可卖了。

大把时间做自己生意

还好吧，每年才60个m?

澳洲不是随便一个IT一年就是20万么，5个喽楼就是1个m。。。还没算上n多的大大小小的pm，ba，arch，tester，manager，coordinator，。。我考，这么一算，这60个m还不够吃的

1）买电脑server系统
2）找external IT consultants

就第２个都不少钱。。。

就算54个m把，一个小时人工200，一年就是27万小时，每人工作2000小时（算很多了），就是150个人头，也算ok。10到20个team

原文没看，你不是说8年500m么？每年60m，没算错把

弄过budget就知道我算一个小时IT人工成本200还算ok，除了工资，迟到早退，旷课生病，水电气，办公设备通讯，开销不小

是，死扣的话，能省下不少钱。要我是管事的，我也愿意多花店，大家开心就好。关键2点：1。活要ok；2。要外包给奥克兰/新西兰本地公司，本地的钱，养活本地的人。

关键是他项目作废了，这点很浪费。我建议康嫂上m的项目要投保，哈哈（我估计有投保，应该没市）

Yes, i have to say government IT spending is crazy, its the biggest pie that consultancy company all want to bite !

all those money will go towards companies like PWC, Deloitte, IBM, HP, and some other consultancy companies.

and most of those big profile consultancy company will charge Auckland Council 1600 to 2500 per day,, so if you have 150 peole working on the project for a year,, that will burn 60million easily ..

and i agree with LZ,, those govt IT project is run by very stupid high paid white men in their late 50s who enjoys golf, luxery functions, and wild parties, and they dont care if the project went bad, all they care is they can push off the responsibility to others, i.e. big named consultancy companies

Those software are really delivered nothing...

No difference - I feel this seems to be a 'working style' of civil servants in local government in Auckland (esp those at the management levels) (if not the whole New Zealand). No matter it is AC, AT, WA, or ATEED, etc, many of them are actually the same bunch of people from the legacy councils ....

People are laid back, good at empty-talking, like to have meetings/workshops all the times just talk about visions, strategies, objectives, etc (which sometimes could be quite crap) but know nothing on the actual means to achieve these. Many projects are badly organised/planned which may sound so great in the begining but finally could go nowhere or disappear somewhere due to financial constraints, political reasons or simply lack of cooperation from other departments - nothing left at the end other than money wasted to feed those hungry consultants.... ~

这儿大把唱高调的新西兰华裔不是不停的在骂中国老人多领了福利，中国人多没素质。
一到洋人做不好的这里，那几个id立马声音都变了，一溜的跟贴说中国多不好多不好，洋人大爷浪费点钱算什么。

现在人们也开始反思了。。。。IT系统是不是真的能省钱。。。。

把50个人干的活儿交给电脑做，结果估了25个人维护电脑。。。。这25个人还要领250个人的薪水。。。。

CBA去年的IT系统升级花了2个Billion。。。。。ASB的系统升级预算是60个Million，所以。。。。只要跟IT沾边，就跟省钱无关了。。。

We are doing a few project for Auckland Transport, IRD for example. They have huge budgets, they never cares about how much they paid.

1) use up the budgets they have got
2) get more money to pay for projects
3) no complaints
