搬新家，邻居问我要fence 钱，他的fence已经2年多了。不是新的。有谁知道该不该付？请指点下，谢谢

LZ, you haven't provided enough details.

1. moving house? You moving in or out?
2. tell your neighbor to screw himself, he can't just jump out from nowhere and demand half of the fence cost.
3. google for Fencing Act 1978 for details. it helps a lot...

also, it will depends on if ur neighbor had mentioned to you about the fence before. If not, he's not entitled to demand money. If yes, and you had agreed to the work, the you have to pay. just read the Fencing Act

If he wants to upgrade/fix/maintain/repair the fence, yes, you have the responsibility to share half with him/her.

If it is just for the construction cost of the fence which was built 2 years ago - you may just ignore him/her.

they can just rebuild the fence and then ask you for $$. They need to get your agreement before they do the work.

Ask him to chase the previous owner for the $.

The fence was not constructed with YOUR approval, so there is no reason for you to pay.
