AA holiday home in Tuscany, a Tiffany diamond ring and a personal trainer might seem like every woman's dream but when it comes to spending a fortune, men's ideas are somewhat different. The findings emerged from a poll of 3,000 people by EuroMillions which asked: 'What would you buy if you won the jackpot?'
Top of the men's list was a Manhattan penthouse apartment, an ?97,000 Aston Martin Vantage 8, and an iPhone 5.
The results showed the average woman would splash her winnings on ?2,000 Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo shoes, holidays and diamonds. A spokesperson for EuroMillions said: 'We wanted to give people the chance to think of things which are beyond their wildest dreams - the kind of things you could by with a massive jackpot win .
'The two lists are fascinating - women seem to love the idea of owning designer fashion items, but have also included a few things which would make their home more stylish. 'Men go straight for the transport and gadgets, wanting the very latest developments in technology and vehicles alike.' The survey shows more than a third of women love the idea of having a personal trainer to give them a complete body overhaul if they could afford it.
The study also shows that 41 per cent of women and 25 per cent of men love the idea of having a personal shopper to help them with all their special purchases. Ideally, women would go shopping at least twice a week, but 14 per cent could happily shop daily - this is compared to the majority of men being content with a quick shop once a week. But the survey shows six in 10 men and women know exactly what they would buy if they suddenly came into a fortune.
