They had the right, the worker felt threatened, and called the police to help him do his job, because the power pole is the property of the company and not of the land owner, the land owner would have signed a waver saying that they are allowed to disconnect it manually if he has not paid bills.

Plus the dude had a knife... +rep to the nz police, nicely handled.

The distinction that needs to be made - which the commenters on YouTube are not doing - is the difference between resisting arrest, and not cooperating. He was clearly putting his hands up to defend his face at the beginning. They used excessive force at the beginning, without any reason or provocation. Once they started thwacking him on the head and back with a night stick, he was still - also notice at that point he had one cop kneeling on his back. Not cooperating with police is not resisting arrest.

Yes, the man was confrontational, but there is a difference between someone who is confrontational and someone who is being threatening. I do not see them disarm him, nor is there any mention of a knife by police during the arrest. The issue at hand is who do we turn to for protection when those who are supposed to be protecting us are the agressor?

朋友家今天被盗了，三台电脑两部Iphone 手机还有首饰全被偷走，报警的时候警察却说来不了，折腾了很久最后终于决定明天来。。。。现场的证据，目击者口供，现场指纹取证这些难道不是必须的程序么？为什么要等到第二天？
这就是新西兰警察，这就是你们的素质和效率。我很失望

LSD。其实你应该站在警察的角度。你真的觉的警察来了能破案吗？一般都要买保险才可以吧。你要是没有保险。其实警察明天来不来也没用了。根本就捉不到凶手。这和素质还有效率无关。也许他们一天都接到几百上千上被盗的电话。可是过去了。你叫警察怎么去查？估计要捉小偷。要出全部力量都找不到那么多小偷。
我的个人意见。不对希望大家指点。

说实话不论你占理不占理都不要跟警察来硬的，除非你真能一个人搞定那两警察...

那人出示他已缴费的证据都是晃了一下，什么也看不清。如果真是缴费了完全可以用合理合法的手段投诉...被警察摁地上了还要挣扎不是找打么。

在国内家里被盗警察更不会来的，他们最多让你去派出所做个口供，然后告诉你找到希望很小，下次小心点。对比一下，国内警察数量和新西兰警察数量，国内那帮爷只要没死人，只会在办公室看报纸，喝茶，没人会管事的。。。现在街上跑的那些110说白了就是以前那些小混混考不上大学上两年警校，出来就变成合法的职业混混，你能指望那种素质的人办什么事么？

@MsSuzboo You really need to wake up. Simon is lying he has edited the tape I have seen the full version and unfortunately he does show himself spraying the cops with the pepper spray. Also if he was so confident why has he left the country. Shame that when he comes back with his tail between his legs he will be arrested and will waste some more tax payers money in the best 5 star hotel at mount Eden. You are a fool and must be from Honeymoon Valley.

The police knew the camera was on them the whole time,do you really think they'd be stupid enough to commit "police brutality" on tape!?If you look closely at the video they are not beating him at all!the baton is being used to separate his hands to put them in handcuffs as he is sitting on them&his shoulder is being hit to release his arms.he could have easily avoided this! Could have just as easily gone to th station peacefully and explained his situation rather than make this gay video!

不是能不能破案的问题，是想不想破案的问题，如果死了人，你看他们来不了。。。。。。。。。还有，为什么每天这么多盗窃案，就是因为贼知道警察根本就不管，所以才敢如此肆无忌惮！

那人還是靠上去了做了甚麼看不見
被捕了要上手銬叫他手放後面(不要跟我說聽不懂或是聽不倒)
看video都聽得很清楚了 put your hands behind your back.
不聽指示就是拒捕了最後警察說罪名是assault police, resist arrest.
