here is the my experience, I've booked auckland to Kula lumpra (KL) return flight with jetstar (i like budget airline), depart on 19 April, and yesterday they send me an email saying that its changed to 21 April.

I have already booked my hotel and its non-refundable. So I was pissed off, and called jetstar, basically i ask them to credit me on the two night hotel money that I've spent, but they said no, and told me they can only do two things :

1. give me a flight on 17 of April, but dont pay for my hotel for the two extra night,
2. give me a refund for the flight.

And i said thats totally unacceptable, they screwed up and want me to pay the price, so i asked to speak to their supervisor, and then they put me on hold for 1 hour and still didnt get to their supervisor.

Not at this stage i am super super pissed ! I was in office, so i had to control my language, so I call them again, this time, the customer service rep told me that they will arrange someone to call me within 5 to 7 business days, and that was it.

what can i do ?! if no one call me in the next 5 to 7 business days, i will need to do something serious to jetstar !

Anyone got any ideas on how to sort out these thing ?

bro.. I feel for you...... they have been complained many times.. you can try send Herald's consumer column on Sunday? I think its on Sunday...

yes, qantas and jetstar have been complaint a lots. i can read those articles from HK media. United air and qantas.. sux...

have a look at their "terms and conditions", serve them a legal notice, i suspect they are now in breach of the fair trading act.

Yes, they are sucks...... if you have travel insurance, you can claim as well...

give Target a call, i am sure they'd love to have these kinda issues against to any aussie firms.

航空公司的terms and conditions里会有一条,航空公司有权利对航班做更改,这种事情任何航空公司都会有的,只是jetstar特别频繁而已,而且他们的售后服务特别差,如果你真的想走法律程序的话,你有可能要跟他们耗很久很久,你这次旅行恐怕都没有办法去了,因为如果你按照他们的航班更改而改变你的旅行计划的话就算是默认并且接受了他们提出的条件,这样你就没有办法告他们。

I read their terms and conditional word by word,, there are no such a thing as the airline can change their flight schedule at any time !

and i will not take them to court, i dont have money and the time to do that. I will just try to do maximum damage to jetstar's image !

I will have a go at Fairgo, NZ hearld, facebook, twitter ! try to maximise the damage !!
I mean i am only asking for the basic thing, i.e pay for my hotel for those two days only ! thats the minimum thing they can do ...

I think airlines can only change flight schedule due to weather/major event/disaster etc.
and here is jetstar reason for the change:

"Jetstar is sorry to inform you that since you made your booking, your flight schedule has been changed. We understand it can be frustrating when plans change, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. While we try to avoid any changes to our timetable, in this instance it was unavoidable. The change to the schedule has been made so we can maximise our aircraft utilisation and continue to offer you everyday low fares."

Quite simple, the reason your flight was cancelled is due to low booking on that particular date... A lot of airlines do that, specially the budget airlines e.g. jet star, air asian etc.

I think Jet Star isn't reimburseing you anything is because they have given you 2 weeks notice... although it is still costing LZ on hotel booking.

Qantas isn't that bad at all, I had just flew with them earlier this year... Qantas has got even better than Cathy Pacific!  My flight did get cancelled due to maintenance issue, hotel and accommodation was all arranged by Qantas.  As much as I hated Sydney, I appreciated the arrangement from Qantas.  

p.s. Trave insurance is essential when making booking with budget airlines... Our travel insurance paid off my phone bill (NZ$208) and a meal during the flight cancellation, after deducting the excess of $75.

the problem with this particular incident is they are deliberately refusing to respond to customers queries in an unacceptable manner...

I think whether LZ purchased a standard or a badly discounted ticket makes a difference here...

i think that is fair enough. they discount the price, so live on a very low margin, so in some times they have to make the necessary changes to make the business still profitable.

下次记得买travel insurance 特别是做这种budget airline    就算不改时间,行李经常不见也是常有的事

你可以问问酒店能不能改日期

try to change your booking date on the hotel and explain the situation.. I would think sometimes hotel are more human than airlines..
