Stage 3: Getting your full licence
You can apply for a full licence after three to 18 months on a restricted licence. How quickly you can apply depends on your age and any approved courses you’ve taken. Find out about approved courses that can reduce the time you have to stay on a restricted licence.
Car (Class 1) and motorcycle (Class 6) courses
If you're under 25 years old, you can reduce the minimum time you have to spend on a restricted licence from 18 months to 12 months by completing an approved advanced driving skills course.
