The rottweiler dog latched onto the face of an Animates pet store staff member in the Westgate shopping centre, causing facial wounds a witness said were horrific. It was thought she may have had part of her lip torn off. 4 N+ d" K7 V9 RThe staff member had leaned over to give a dog some food when it attacked. It was locked in the owner's car and the staff member was taken to hospital, where she may need plastic surgery. $ G7 d+ D4 p/ r- W" V! J0 q) j _Waitakere City Council manager of animal welfare Neil Wells said footage of the attack had been reviewed and the owner had done nothing wrong so the dog would not be destroyed.
