Problem Statement: ChristchurchInstitute of Business is a medium size educational students in the New Zealandthe institute has launched many new programs like Diploma in InformationBusiness IT (Level 7). The Educational structure of the institute consists oftwo teaching departments of English and business. Currently all the enrolmentprocedures are manually handled for new and existing students. The staff at theadmission office maintains a manual file for each student. It creates a lot ofproblems for the staff and result in many discrepancies. Sometimes it becomesvery difficult to locate the file of the students with the same name. Inaddition the management of the current file system is very inefficient. Nosecurity measures are in place to protect the system integrity. The preliminarysearch for an off-the-shelf software package has not been successful.
Youare a leading system analyst with a record of successful projects. The CEO ofthe institute approaches you to help them to develop a solution of thisproblem. You took this opportunity and intending to apply SDLC (systemdevelopment Lifecycle) approach for the development of the new system.

Task:
Q1: Conduct preliminary investigation to find the problem in the currentmanual system. Explain each problem and its impact on the operation.
(Useassumptions). (500 words)

Q2: identify opportunities andpropose a new better electronic system which provides competitive advantage. (500words)

Q3: Develop a questionnaire for thestaff to solicit information requirement for the new system. Make sure todevelop a comprehensive questionnaire to cover functional and non-functionalrequirements.

Q4: Conductan investigation to create a ‘Technical feasibility’ report. Your technicalfeasibility report should encompass all the hardware & softwarerequirements. (300 words)

Q5: EvaluateSDLC and prototyping methodology for this critical system. Support you answerwith the justification. (500 words)

Q6: Draw acontext level data flow diagram first. Later explode in into ‘0’ level to give moredetailed view of the system.

Q7: Whichstrategy you would employ to implement the system successfully in theorganization. Justify your answer while critically evaluating all the options.(200 words)

Q8: Explainyour responsibilities as a system analyst working on this important project.

朋友，首先要跟说一句，Assignment还是要自己做的，也是个学习的过程，多学点东西对你没有坏处;其后，你发的题目看起来实在好累，应该注意下格式，看的累啊；最后，提点意见，希望可以给你点帮助 (个人意见)，你可以参考一下。（本人IT口里面混日子的，没吃过猪肉，也看过猪跑路。。你凑活参考吧，我发扬一下雷锋精神而已）

首先，题目简化来说，就是现在这个学院用文件系统来管理学生，而你作为系统分析师，需要帮这个部分设计一套系统（说白了，用数据库系统管理方式替换文件系统管理方式）。做系统我们一般都会采用刚才那样一种方式（SDLC），详细的你自己去查查，我简单说一下就是先调查，分析公司面临的问题，然后设计解决方案，然后去部署方案。。。下面我每题简单地说说，给你个思路吧，很多东西我没有说，你自己查查吧，比如系统架构可以CS（Client-Server）或者BS(Brower-Server)等。最后还要说一句就是，你脑子里面要有这么个系统，你要知道它是怎么运行的，如果不知道，去查查那些学生管理系统的相关介绍。

Q1：手工系统的几个严重问题（题目已经给出了）：1. 效率低下（学生越来越多，则文件越来越多，找某个特定学生文件变得异常困难；）；2. 数据冗余（如果有1w个学生，那就1w个文件，难以管理；重名的人很多，必定会有冗余数据出现）；3. 系统维护性差（对学生档案管理来说，经常会有大量insert，modify ,delete的操作，用文件系统简直自虐，用数据库系统几个语句搞定；做备份，1w个文件，就要做1w个备份。。。得要多少存储空间。。。）4. 缺乏统一数据标准（一个文件一个样，不同的人创建不同文件，当然会产生不同；举例：性别，有人可能写sex，有人可能写gender；至于数据值类型更是多种多样，举例：性别，有人写male，female；有人就会写m，f；还有人会写0，1表示….）5. 安全行和保密性（任何人只要login系统搜索到文件就可以查阅修改，根本没有权限管理；当然你可以说给文件每个加入权限，那样工作量也会成倍，还是不行；）
基本上，忽悠500字够了；

Q2. 多了不说了，你查一下数据库系统和文件系统对比相关东西就好，把那些数据库系统比文件系统怎么怎么好放在这里就好了～

Q3. 设计一个调查表就没什么难了吧; 从Requirement Engineering方面入手，把functional和non-functional 需求编一下就好；functional就是这个系统要完成啥啥功能，；non-functional就是这个系统的安全性，保密性，完整性等等方面的考虑；Google一下很多的

Q4. 技术可行性报告（这个不是很懂，只是个人理解）。就假设一下， Hardware：几台服务器，多少带宽就可以搞定；Software（需要移植性好，兼容Windows，linux和tiger等；需要兼容性好，可以在XP，Vista，Win7下都能用）；大概就是这么个意思，你自己组织组织，忽悠吧。。最后结论一下，软硬件需求很容易满足，花费成本可以接受，所以此系统的可行性很高之类的

Q5. 这个就需要你自己做了，查一下SDLC那个流程图，对你这个分析很有用。说到此题，评估SDLC，你就基于刚才的那些东西评价一下，写写个人理解就好；实际上Q1-Q4全是分析过程。 Q1，Q2是初始化分析过程（评述现有问题，提出解决方案等等），Q3就是需求分析过程；Q4就是planning的过程…

Q6. 你先查一下啥叫DFD（Data flow diagram），啥叫context diagram（level 0，它是最基本的DFD）和咋画，没啥难懂，随便找个例子图对着画画就好。题目要求只花个level 0级别就行，但是又让你深入一些detailed东西，我推荐你再画到level1层，这样子，不用写太多字就很明了了。
Q7. 这个题目出的很怪，说实话，我没懂… 因为一般到implementation就是开发了。。大量coding之类的事情，可能有啥策略吧，你自己搜一下
Q8. 这个没啥好说了，你的责任就是：分析系统现有问题，提出更好解决方案，收集客户需求，根据客户需求设计新系统，对新系统可行性进行分析，开发过程中跟客户沟通等等，太多了，这个你可以查查去，基本上我感觉除了coding，testing，maintaining。。其他的都可以算作你的责任…（尤其是沟通的东西）

以上差不多了，说的很含糊和不规范，很多细节需要你自己去查，去做了～但是大体面上应该可以应付作业了～

Q6. 可以用power design来画。很简单，因为你只是blueprint，不用去implement。
Q7. 如果只要求200字的话，也应该不难。The aim of the Strategy is to determine how information systems should be developed and used to support the University’s mission and its institutional policies. 根据这个定义去写就好了
