Departure Fee for International Flights
A NZ$25 departure fee applies for all international travel, with children aged under 12 free. The departure tax may be purchased from BNZ stores at the Airport or BNZ Departure Fee kiosks after check-in.
BNZ Departure Fee Kiosks
Departure Fee kiosks are located next to the BNZ stores in the International Terminal. The following shows the process when using the kiosks:
Use an EFTPOS or credit card that has a PIN number.
Follow the prompt on the screen to use.
The kiosk will print off a docket which details the departure tax as paid.
Present the docket to Customer Services when entering departures.

If you are leaving New Zealand on or after 1 July 2008 you will be relieved to discover that you no longer need to pay a $25 international departure fee at Auckland Airport.
The change brings Auckland Airport into line with other major gateways around the world and is certain to improve your travelling experience and leave you feeling hassle free!
The departure fee is being replaced by a Passenger service Charge (PSC) that will be levied on airlines, rather than travellers, based on the number of international arrivals and departures.
