The Skilled Newcomers Training Programme is delivered by the Wellington Chamber of Commerce and is designed for people who have been living in NZ for up to five years and are looking for work appropriate to their skills and experience (including graduate student transit visa). The course covers everything from introduction to working in NZ to seeking new employment opportunities.
The course is for
Skilled migrants or refugees
Partners of skilled migrants
People who are on a work to residence visa
Student transitioning from student to work visa
This includes culturally and linguistically diverse newcomers from English speaking countries.
The Skilled Newcomers Training program is delivered by the Wellington Regional Chamber of
Commerce to assist you in finding employment.
About the course
An introduction to working in NZ
Creating a new CV and letter of introduction
Preparing for an interview and its processes
Personal presentation and grooming techniques
Identifying with the job market and seeking new employment opportunities
Motivating and encouraging you to find suitable work.
You will be able to demonstrate the skills you have learnt in a work experience or employment situation.
The Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce will assist in finding you employment.
Our staff offer on-going career support and advice.
