Help kick off the festival in style – the Tempo 09 Opening Day Parade and Festivities return for more fun and fanfare in Downtown Auckland. Starting at Princes Wharf in front of Wildfire Restaurant at 1:30pm. Join the Tamani drummers, the IYB Brass Band, and a procession of colourful Tempo dancers and supporters as we dance, glide and pirouette our way through Britomart Station and out to the Britomart Carpark. The public will be treated to a freestyle Salsa class by Cuban dance experts Vivio & Greydis and a Les Mills BodyJam class by the charismatic Gandalf Archer – all for free!
Join us in the Opening Day parade on Saturday 26th September, thencontinue with a fabulous 11-day season of dance at TAPAC and carry oninto shows at venues as varied as the Concert Chamber, the Art Lounge,Cassette #9 and The Basement.
