Landscape has always been a very challenging subject in photography.I won't say it's technically demanding, but the most difficult part isyou need to be at the right place at the right time. Landscapephotography may not be always rewarding, especially for those who don'ttravel often such as myself. I spend most of my days living in CBD andhardly have opportunities going to other cities. I struggle in findinggood landscape locations so not to mention those exotic places you sawin National Geographic magazines. Travelling in a tour or with youreveryday friends often means that you will be visiting places whereeverybody has visited before. Same location, same spot, and same angleof view. Even if you do manage to find a perfect vantage point, youwill be most likely to stay at one location for very limited time, fortime is money when you are travelling. Usually in situation like thisthe poor lighting condition kicks in and affects your image. For thisreason, I am so eager to travel with landscape photographers and I lookforward to it in the near future.
I was super glad that in our trip to South Island (Christchurch andmany other beautiful places) last time the companies were willing tosacrifice their sleeping time and got up early in the morning, stop byat scenic lookout points and travel extra miles to maximize our travelexperience. As a result, the trip was very exciting and we had manystories to tell. Most of all, the beautiful scenery in South Islandtruly manifested our artistic God the Creator. I am not an experiencedlandscape photographer, nor an experienced traveller, I would just liketo share some of the favourite photos I took during the trip and I hopeyou will enjoy them.
Sun was about to set and the light was coming through the thin fog.
The moon was so big and bright that occasionally we could see it in the car mirrors and thought there was a car following us.
At sunrise, at purple light hit the mountain top.
The mirror-like Lake Tekapo.
A stone thrown into the lake book the silence.
Church of the Good Shepherd...
We arrived there a bit too early and the church was not open yet.
Mt Cook...
Sunset at Wanaka...
Fun walk at Fox Glacier...
Sunset at Pancake rocks...
A train was passing through Arthur's Pass.
A nice message concludes this entry.

Always try to explore this wonderful island by yourself rather than go onto a scenic tour and places that have already been familiar with everybody. We need creation, we need something different.作者: W84U 时间: 2009-9-22 12:10:53
