Hi Everybody,

One of our NZCSA committee members, Lucy Zhang, is running for the AUSA position of Women Right Officer this year!

AUSA has NEVER served the Chinese students in any ways. Lucy believes, we Chinese students deserve a lot more supports from this university.

It has always been about Pacific Island, Maori, European groups, NOT the Chinese - even though we are the biggest group at university.

We deserve more funding and sponsorship for social events and benefits that the university can offer in general. We have all paid to be here, so let's make the most out of it!

More specifically, Lucy Zhang, is offering the fresh, innovative approach that is needed to meet the diverse demands of women on campus today. This revolves around listening and action, not around slogans or political theory. Rather than dictating her own beliefs to others, she will be your vocal representation on AUSA to bring the views of all students on campus together.

To serve you better, all Lucy needs is the support from our female Chinese countrymen!

On Tuesday, Wednesday,or Thursday (18-20th) this week, Vote in the QUAD, Business Building, OGGB level One by the cafe tables or in the Engineering Building by the stairs, on the entrance level.

Let our voice be heard!

最近又到了AUSA竞选时间。今年我们NZCSA的一名理事会成员Lucy Zhang 将代表我们中国人参加竞选“维护女权主席”的位置。

她的竞选成功将会在AUSA中为我们中国学生更好的谋福利，也将会在AUSA中大大提升中国学生们的影响力。

竞选投票活动将在本月18，19，20号（即周二至周四）进行，在Quad，OGGB1楼，工程学院入口处都将设有投票地点。

由于Lucy Zhang 是竞选“维护女权主席”的位置，所以只有女生才有投票权。

NZCSA在此号召广大的中国女生们，希望能为Lucy Zhang投上宝贵的一票，为我们中国学生在AUSA中谋更多的福利！

The diverse needs of women today demand a fresh, innovative approach that revolves around listening and action, not around slogans. Advocacy for women on campus is a tough job, and I have the genuine dedication and positive energy to stand for it. Rather than dictating my own beliefs to others, I want to hear what you need, and act upon these to best benefit you.
Besides resolving issues, I believe AUSA should also provide some of what women want in general. With significant experience in gaining sponsorship deals, I can provide amazingly economical recreational services for women at this university to benefit from and enjoy. If you elect me, you will get:
• Student Market Days for you to trade your clothes at uni, no admin fees needed;
• Women’s Space upgraded with massage machines and the microwave brought back;
• Free coffees and massively discounted gelato ice-creams (sponsors found already!)
• Workshops run by leading NZ females;
• Cosmic foam parties, Ladies’ Night Out, and much more.
These promises are just the beginning. Help me help you get the safe, reflective space and support I hope to create for us all. It’s time to get real about real women!

I am fully supportive of Lucy and so should everyone else.

It is true that more often than not that Chinese students, as a group, have been neglected more or less by our AUSA. But this is largely due to the fact that the voice of Chinese students has never been raised by any group, but when it was raised, it was rather taken the form of adverse behaviour. So we need to be heard, in a positive and democratic manner, for once and all. All the best with the election Lucy!
